This universally designed project was for a Del Webb community in Sun City Lincoln Hills, Ca. The goal was to create a universal design kitchen without having it look like it aesthetically, but rather beautifully functional. It was built with an active adult lifestyle in mind.
Aging in place features:
- Knobs were added to cabinetry
- Lever handles to pantry
- Originally designed with single oven in range-type location
- Layered lighting overhead: general can lights+ accent lighting for island pendants+ task lighting under cabinets,
- Island size allows for wheelchairs and does not obstruct traffic patterns.
- No overhangs.
