1.  How long have you been in business?

2.  Are you licensed for out of state moves?

3.  What type of insurance do you carry (workers comp, etc.)?

4.  How many people will you send for the move ( packing, moving, unpacking)?

5.  Is your crew bonded?

6.  What items do you not move?

7.  How long will it take for my stuff to arrive?

8.  What am I charged for?

     Time, People, Mileage, Packing Materials, Other

9.  What kinds of insurance coverage do you offer and what are the costs?

10. Can I pack some items myself?

11. Are my goods covered if I pack them myself?

12. How long will it take to pack and load?

13. How long will it take to unpack and unload?

14. What time do you start and what time do you finish?

15. Review in detail their moving estimate and make sure you understand what makes that up and what items may change during the actual move.(e.g. number of boxes used) Read the fine print!!!

I have known friends who did not ask these questions and found out at the end that the company they chose was not responsible for several of these questions and came out the loser in the end.  Be sure to protect your belongings by asking questions and knowing the result before it happens.  You will be the benefactor!
