High Point is located in the Piedmont Triad region of the state of North Carolina. The city stretches into several counties, but most is in Guilford County. (The others include Randolph, Davidson, and Forsyth.)
The population is estimated at 111,967.1 Approximately 23% of the population is age 55 or older, with 12% being age 65 or older.2 What this means is that High Point is on-track with most areas of the country in terms of how many older adults there are. Many people like the idea of aging in place, but do not understand what it takes to do it successfully.
Aging in Place Community
The Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging is offering a series of programs designed to help you age well.
These Age Well Community Programs include, Living Healthy at Home, Chronic Disease Self Management, A Matter of Balance (fall prevention), Powerful Tools for Caregivers and volunteer opportunities.
