Barrier Free Occupational Therapy OT’s specialize in evaluating clients strengths and weaknesses, lifestyle choices and barriers in the environment.
We then utilize that information for creative home modifications and adaptive equipment recommendations to increase function, independence and to create a lifestyle of choice for people regardless of their physical and cognitive abilities.
We work with caregivers, attorneys and the care management team in developing discharge plans, designing living spaces, medically justifying client/family needs and providing expert witness testimony to give the client the tools required to live life to the fullest.
Barrier Free Occupational Therapy also works with builders and designers to assist in ensuring home modifications are safe and functional for our clients.
Barrier Free Occupational Therapy is operated by Karen Koch, Occupational therapist, Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), Licensed builder, University of Southern California Executive Certificate in Home Modifications Certificate holder.
