It only seems natural that people would be interested in using home automation voice control; especially for aging in place. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that being able to control your home system with an tablet, smartphone or on your TV is not good. I just think that there are certain situations where voice control would come in handy. (Not to mention, it’s pretty darn cool.) Let me explain.
As you consider the reasons you might want to have home automation in your residence as you grow older, you should also think about how you would want to interact with it. For example, before or just after retirement, using other devices to control your system might be just fine. But, as you grow older, you just may not want to be bothered with it all the time. Voice controls also might be good for those that are more inclined not to want to use another device to control their system. For instance, someone who shies away from technology or who might not be able to use a tablet or smartphone very easily.
Home automation voice control is an option
Home automation voice control might be just the thing for certain situations. It might not be how you want to interact with your system all the time. Ultimately, being able have a number of ways to control your system is optimal, such as having your system respond to your voice, automatically perform certain tasks based on events or sensors, and using a smartphone to control it. Having options means the system is flexible to meet your needs as it fits your lifestyle.
