Companies Plan Joint Venture for High-Tech Aging in Place Education

AgeInPlace.com is partnering with Maui AgeWave LLC and Virtual Ability, Inc. to explore the use the virtual world called Second Life for the creation of an educational resource for Baby Boomers about aging in place.

Ocala, FL — Aug 11, 2008 — AgeInPlace.com (https://ageinplace.com), a property of Florida-based Age In Place Networks, LLC and Internet destination for aging in place information, is partnering with Maui AgeWave LLC (mauiagewave.com) and Virtual Ability, Inc. (virtualability.org) to explore the use the virtual world called Second Life for the creation of an educational resource for Baby Boomers about aging in place. Second Life is an immersive, Internet-based digital world that opened to the public in 2003 and is filled with people, communities, entertainment and marketplaces.

Age In Place Networks, LLC has an agreement tp partner with Maui Agewave and Virtual Ability,Inc. to plan and obtain funding for a series of learning modules within a dedicated baby boomers space on Second Life. These virtual destinations will advance consumer knowledge of the aging in place concept, as well as the role of emerging new personal health technologies and health information exchanges in maintaining health and wellness.
