Late life depression is a very serious issue, and is more common in seniors and the elderly than you may know. Sadly, not nearly enough people suffering from depression get the help they need so they can lead richer, more rewarding, lives.
Depression that comes later in life can be brought on by the lack of social contact, recent loss of a loved one or a number of other things. Untreated, depression can mentally, physically and emotionally cripple a person. That is especially true for the elderly.
