Using voice controlled lighting in your home automation system can provide a new level of interaction with your home. By speaking to your home, you can turn on on a light, lower the temperature of your home, turn on your favorite music or a host of other commands.
This could be particularly useful for aging in place, with advantages such as not having to walk across a room to turn on a light or being able to turn them on in a time of need without having to get out of bed. Of course, this could be done using sensors or a tablet computer with many home automation systems. But, being able to just speak your commands may be more convenient or even preferred by some aging in place seniors.
Voice controlled lighting systems
Not every system has built-in support for voice control. The voice controlled lighting in this system is accomplished using CastleOS. According to CastleOS, the system does not have to be trained; it can recognize commands out-of-the-box.
Beyond just lights, voice control opens up a host of possibilities. For instance, telling the system to set ’emergency’ mode, which could turn on all the lights, unlock outside doors, then messaging family members. The possibilities are endless.
