Age in Place Bathroom Remodel: AK Complete Home Renovations

February 26, 2011 By Mark Hager

AK designed this beautiful aging in place shower with style and function in mind. The homeowner wanted a shower they could feel safe in no matter their age. AK used small tiles in a herringbone pattern on the floor which created a very slip-resistant surface. They installed a teak wood shower seat which could be flipped up when not in use. Finally, AK designers placed the water controls for the shower on a reachable level for people of all abilities and gave the user the  option of using a hand-held shower besides the rain head.
