Kitchen Remodel Granite Bay: Kerrie Kelly Design Lab

October 31, 2011 By Mark Hager

The goal for this kitchen remodel, Granite Bay, CA, was to create a distinctive looking Universal Design kitchen for all members of the family; a gathering place. This house was a part of the DIY’s House Crasher’s TV show. The entire kitchen was gutted and everything in it was replaced new.

Pulls were added to cabinetry, as well as solid countertops for easy cleaning. A solid cork flooring was installed for easy wheeling and general “give”. Layered lighting overhead was installed. (General can lights, accent lighting for island pendants and task lighting under cabinets.) The multi-level island allows for wheelchairs and youngsters, and does not obstruct the traffic pattern. It also has an open base.
