Can you imagine if, today, Alexander Graham Bell picked up the phone to call his kids and had to leave a message for them?
Leaving messages on the phone for our kids or grandkids is the proverbial whistling in the wind.
No one hears it.
A few months ago, I talked about the importance of being relevant. What I didn’t talk about was how to be relevant with your kids and grandkids.
I needed an expert to help me with this question—a wise person who knows all and would take the time to teach me his ways, and be more in touch with my surroundings. Where is this wise person?
Would I have to travel to far off locations and learn the secrets?
As I began packing my bags, and ‘Google Mapping’ this sacred place, I realized — let me just ask my grandson.
“How do I get to be relevant in his world,” I asked? His reply was, “Text me.”
You heard it, folks. The reality is that the telephone has now become a piece of surplus, like the fedora hats our fathers used to wear every day.
When a client said to me the other day that he does not know how to communicate with his grandson anymore, I said, “Text him!”
No more lengthy phone messages—just text him. You will be amazed at how fast he gets back to you.
Wow, the surprise on my client’s face. The big secret has now been revealed… If you want to stay relevant with the grandkids, and even your kids, learn to talk in their language – and that means texting.
Take my advice for what it is…It’s Just, AS I SEE IT!

I am looking for a home telephone that works with people who wear hearing aids (my Mom). I don’t know where to begin….

Jessie,
My mom had a Clarity phone for a few years and really liked it. It was the one with the big buttons (Clarity Amplified Photo Phone). Go to Amazon.com and lookup “clarity phones for hearing impaired” and you’ll get a nice list. Don’t be afraid to read the reviews and see what people have to say about each one. I hope this helps.
